Dear King’s Ridge Christian School Parents,
This unprecedented journey seems to always be changing. We ask for an extra measure of grace as we all figure out this new reality under the coronavirus (COVID-19) together.
Governor Kemp announced Thursday afternoon that all K-12 public schools will be closed through Friday, April 24, 2020, and may reopen on April 27, 2020, though he could extend the closure if the pandemic crisis worsens.
King's Ridge Christian School will follow the Governor’s executive order and not hold in-person classes on campus until April 27, 2020. Please note the following for the upcoming weeks:
- We will continue virtual learning for the week of March 30.
- The week of April 6 will be spring break, and we will not have any instruction during this week.
- The week of April 13 and April 20 will continue with virtual learning. We are hopeful to start back to school on Monday, April 27, but in the meantime we will continue to monitor the situation and notify families of any potential changes.
It was brought to my attention late yesterday that Jenny Piacente, a member of our Fine Arts faculty, has tested positive for COVID-19. Mrs. Piacente has given us permission to share her name and diagnosis, and we have contacted those individuals who were in close proximity to her over the past fourteen days. Mrs. Piacente began experiencing symptoms after KRCS had already closed. We are very relieved to report that Mrs. Piacente is feeling better, and we are in regular contact with her. Please keep the Piacente family in your prayers along with others affected by this virus.
If you develop flu or other symptoms including dry cough and fever, please contact your medical provider as well as notify KRCS Lead Nurse
Dawn Weber. The health and well-being of our community is paramount. Out of an abundance of caution, we defogged the entire facility last week and will go back and defog the areas where Mrs. Piacente was during her time on campus.
KRCS believes these precautions will keep our faculty, students, and extended family members safe, while hopefully preventing spread of disease in our area. We strongly urge our families to practice recommended "social distancing" strategies to help our local community more quickly eradicate the threat of COVID-19.
Our greatest hope is that we will return to campus on Monday, April 27, 2020. We will continue to communicate any changes or reassessments of the situation. Thank you for your full cooperation, patience, and understanding as we support the well-being of our community.
To God be the glory,
Dr. Jeff D. Williams
Head of School
