Campus Update

3/26/20:
Dear King’s Ridge Christian School Parents,

As I look out my office window this morning, the campus looks and feels so different without our students and the normal hum of school activity. I can assure you that King’s Ridge Christian School's commitment to our Christian vision, mission, and passion as well as academic excellence remains the same as it has for the past 19 years. As we continue the spring semester in a way that none of us ever imagined via online course instruction, our faculty and students continue the academic experience in new and creative ways. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we adapt to a world that is changing daily due to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

As you are aware, we have taken numerous precautionary measures over the past several weeks to limit the potential spread of COVID-19 at KRCS, and there is no imminent threat to our school. Last week we defogged and thoroughly cleaned our campus again and restocked each classroom with hand sanitizer. We strive to be good citizens of our community, state, and nation in doing what is reasonable to protect our students, faculty, and families as much as possible.

When we consider the coming days and weeks, we now know that as a school community our campus will be closed until after spring break. The first day we may possibly return to KRCS for in-person classes is Tuesday, April 14, 2020. As such:

  • Classes will continue virtually until spring break. There will be no classes or virtual learning during spring break (April 6 - 10).
  • I want to encourage families to be cautious with your spring break plans. Please be aware of our school policy concerning travel during this unusual time. If for some reason you are traveling to a quarantined location, we require families to self-quarantine for 14 days once they return.
  • Monday, April 13, was scheduled to be a "Holiday/Possible Make Up Day", but we plan on utilizing this day as a Professional Development Day for faculty and staff only.
  • We are hopeful to start back to school on April 14, but in the meantime we will continue to monitor the situation and notify families the week of April 6 of any potential schedule changes.

KRCS does not take this decision lightly and understands this is an inconvenience to our families, but we believe these precautions will keep our faculty, students, and extended family members safe, while hopefully preventing spread of disease in our area. We urge our families to practice recommended "social distancing" strategies to help our local community more quickly eradicate the threat of COVID-19. Our goal is to cooperate with authorities, and hopefully get back to school as soon as possible. Please monitor the school website for future communication concerning COVID-19.

Thank you for all you have done and continue to do in working with your children. Please be in prayer for those affected by this virus. We rest in Psalm 46:1: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."

To God be the glory,
